1) My baby is already 6 months old. Should I still attend the Moms Joining Moms class? The class is designed for moms in their first year post-partum (so babies from birth to 1 year old), however, we will not turn any interested mother away. We have had moms attend with their two week old or their two year old.
2) Do I bring my baby with me to the Moms Joining Moms class? Yes, babies and healthy older siblings are welcome. We have toys for older children to play with and we have a playmat, rocking chair, and bumbo seat for babies to use. Please do not bring children who have had a fever within the last 24 hours or who have an active cough. We have two nursing pillows available for nursing moms. There is a fridge and a microwave also available for use during all of our classes.
3) I am going to miss the first Moms Joining Moms class. Should I still enroll? Yes! We hope you do! The Moms Joining Moms class meets every other month throughout the year on Fridays for 4 weeks. Although we touch on different topics each week, you can come into the class at any time. In addition to the weekly discussion of our regular topics (feeding, sleeping and calming) we also discuss an important parent and child bonding activity each week. Week 1 is usually about Infant Massage, week 2 is usually about wearing your infant in a sling, week 3 is usually about Infant Sign Language, and week 4 is usually about creating a unique discipline style. If you miss a class in one 4 week session, we encourage you to enroll in the next four week session so that you can take advantage of all the great information our instructor has to offer. Remember, in each new four week session there are always new friends to meet!
