School of Pharmacy welcomes you to Homecoming

Michael D. Hogue, PharmD, FAPhA, FNAP

Dean, School of Pharmacy

I am very pleased to invite all of our School of Pharmacy alumni to the seventh annual Loma Linda University Health Homecoming. Our incredibly valuable continuing education courses this year will be interprofessional and offered in hybrid formats so that if you can’t join us, you’ll still be able to take advantage of CE credits at home. We do hope, however, that you’ll come in person and get the most out of Homecoming! We have so many exciting things planned for you—a festival-like Welcome Back Bash, a screening of an acclaimed film on healthcare, inspiring worship services, a pickleball tournament and an exceptional 20th anniversary dinner party for the School of Pharmacy—all of it organized with you in mind to keep us connected, healthy and happy!

Highlights of the Past Year

LLU School of Pharmacy (LLUSP) graduates earned a seventy-one percent pharmacy residency match rate—its highest residency program match rate in years, even with a significant increase in applicants to residency programs!

LLUSP was recognized as the nation’s first Hispanic Center of Excellence in Pharmacy and received a federal grant of $3.4 million to provide educational and training opportunities for the LatinX community, increase Hispanic representation among pharmacists, and address minority health issues our community.

In August, 2022, LLUSP celebrated its 20th anniversary since welcoming the very first cohort of pharmacy students to campus! For a month, LLUSP commemorated the special occasion with faculty medallions, lapel pins, cake, balloons, and cookies. We’ll continue the festivities at our Homecoming dinner on March 4!
